Do you want to see good days during this New Year? God wants you to. In fact, God has good things in store for you this year. He wants you to love life! Many people believe God can do mighty things, but many people do not believe He wants to.
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.- 1 Peter 3:10 (NIV)
If God did not want you to love life and see good days, then why tease us with this verse? No, God wants you to love life and see good days. Many people think of this Christian life as a drab and boring life, but God’s desire is that our days be filled with life. He wants us to wake up and have a good day, not a bad one. God is a good God. He is the type of Father that enjoys seeing His children blessed. After this verse the Bible says, “They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:11). Notice that God wants you to seek peace. When you have peace, that is a good day! Good days come when you have peace in your heart, and peace comes when you know God loves you.
Of all the bodily parts that the Lord tells us to refrain from evil is the tongue. He could have said refrain your eyes from evil if you want to see good days but he doesn’t. He says that it is what we are speaking that is causing our day to start off bad. Of course this includes cursing, but it is more than just not saying an evil word. You start off your day either speaking negative or by speaking positive. Speak words of faith. Confess things like, “God not only loves me, He likes me.” Confess hope, “This year is going to be a good year because God’s favor is on my life.” Wake up having an expectation of good, not bad! This is what Hope is all about. Hope is a confident expectation of good. He wants you to see good years. Amen.
He doesn’t want you to see evil days, but good ones. Good days come when you know God loves you! 2014 is going to be a great year! No need to worry about it, Jesus is already there. God wants the year 2014 to be a year of good days. Speak hope this new year and love life!
