Write the vision down! – Habakkuk 2:2

Three stone masons in the Middle Ages were hard at work when a visitor came along and asked them what they were doing. The first stone mason was hard at work, sweat beading his brow. “I am cutting this stone,” he grumbled. The second stone mason, though less distraught, responded with a deep sigh, “I’m building a parapet.” The third stone mason replied with a radiant face, “I am building a beautiful cathedral that 1will glorify God for centuries to come.”

The Prophet Habakkuk once explained how God told him, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.” (Habakkuk 2:2). Recording the vision is something that we are called to do. When you have a goal, write it down. Later as you get closer to that goal, you can look back and remember it.

Our perspective has an effect on everything. It is about how we view our time, energy, and life itself. What is your vision? What do you want to see accomplished? Think about your goal and write it down. Think about going grocery shopping. When you go to pick up items at the store, how do you remember them? By having a list. When you have something written down, you will be more likely to remember it.

These three stone masons had different visions. Two had vision of ending the job and going home. The other one had a heavenly vision. What is yours today? Set your eyes on things above. Set your eyes on Christ.
