Live a Life That Is LIT!

Christmas lights, there is just nothing better. Nothing represents Christmas more than light. In a period of silence where there had been over four hundred years of silence, a small baby was born. Two thousand years later, we are still talking about Him. There i60983s something amazing about how even the darkest nights can be lit up. We as Christians are called to live a life that is lit! We are called to be a light to this world.

Daniel 12:3 tells us, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”

God wants you to shine bright. When I think of people who are wise they shine bright at what they are knowledgeable in. I love listening to John Campea or Collider Movie Talk speak about Star Wars. Why? Because they are knowledgeable about what they are talking about. Have you ever been around someone passionate about something? There is something so amazing that causes us to be more interested. May we all have a passion for Christ that causes us to shine bright.

The Star of Bethlehem was not just a normal star. It was a star that even Astronomers from the East noticed it. The star had a simple part to play. It pointed to the place where our Savior was born. May we all be light the Star of Bethlehem and point people to Christ.

Matthew 5:14-16 tells us, “14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a [b]hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a [c]basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Many times our life is a witness to others. How we carry ourselves, respond to adversity, and treat other people will effect our witness. It’s time to choose to smile. What this world really needs is love. When we choose to smile and have a good attitude we are being a light.

May we all be like a lighthouse. A lighthouse warns boats on the ocean of being too close to the shore. If a boat does not know where the shore is, they could crash. The lighthouse serves as a beacon to guide the boats during a foggy night. Many people can live in a fog. We can get overwhelmed with fogs of stress, anxiety, and worry. May we be a lighthouse and guide them closer to the shore. Only the Holy Spirit is able to lift that fog from their lives. We just point them in the right direction.

God wants us to shine like the stars. May we live a life that is lit! It’s time to recognize that God’s light shines even in the darkness. Let’s begin to look at how wonderful Jesus it. I believe that this is what God has called us to do. We are all called to reflect the light that God has given to us
